Faisal Ahmed

Ph.D. Student, Graduate Research Assistant 

Faisal is a Ph.D. graduate student in Environmental Engineering – at the Civil Engineering Department of the University of North Dakota (UND). He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Jahangirnagar University at the Department of Environmental Sciences. He has been pursuing his second master’s degree in GIScience and Geoenvironment at Western Illinois University in 2021.

During his graduation from Jahangirnagar University, he was engaged in an internship project at FCI BD, a UK-based company on ‘Wastewater Treatment’, and he was selected for the cultural exchange program for one year in Australia by the government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in 2015. After graduation, he started working as a Research Assistant at the Organization for Human Development Initiatives through Research (OHDIR) foundation. His current research interests at UND include adsorption and membrane processes for removing emerging contaminants, membrane coating, and adsorbent synthesis.

 

His hobbies are exploring new things, playing Cricket, watching movies, and tree plantation. He visited several countries such as Nepal, India, Australia, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Hungary, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Belgium, and France.
